Independent eyewear label LEINZ was founded by designer Beate Leinz in 2020. Prior to founding her own brand, Beate was a successful eyewear designer for famous fashion houses including Prada, Tom Ford and Yohji Yamamoto for many years.

Keen to create a completely new aesthetic and produce her own distinctive range under an independent label, Beate was inspired by the idea of contrasts and hybrids: the combination of old and new & the familiar with the future. She consistently applied this concept across all aspects of materiality, form and manufacture. Two years later and after various technical hurdles and modifications she finally launched the LEINZ Contemporary Eyewear collection.

Her collections are based on the idea of creating tension in the design by contrasting two materials. The respective material properties, such as surface texture, weight and colour, are used to give each model a high-quality finish. The contrasting materials combine harmoniously through a sophisticated ‘plug-in’ construction. High gloss meets tactile, vibrancy meets matte surfaces and curves meet hard edges. The result is a unique piece of eyewear.

Sustainability is one of the brand‘s guiding principles. The company sees a resource-saving approach as a guiding value in the development of all processes and products. As a result, Leinz decided to use 3D printing to produce her eyewear. The pure 3D printed models allow for lower stock and shorter production times. Production in the SLS 3D printing process is material-saving, as hardly any plastic waste remains.

In 2023, LEINZ and Guillaume Larquemain, the talented French fashion accessories designer, collaborated on a collection. A limited edition of stylish and sustainable eyewear, each piece is a work of art applying Guillaume Larquemain’s unique apple skin pattern as a texture to the exceptional LEINZ eyewear pieces. The frames feature bold silhouettes, sophisticated details and eco-friendly materials, making them a popular choice for fashion-conscious individuals.
