It is sometimes necessary to carry out a specialist scan following a routine eye examination. We invest heavily in the latest technology, having recently purchased the latest, cutting edge Spectralis OCT scanner.

An Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a hospital-quality scan that uses cutting-edge technology to look more closely at your retina. Many general ophthalmic conditions can creep up on you, without any significant symptoms. In particular, an OCT scan can help to detect eye conditions such as glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.

Digital images will be stored in our Chelsea eye clinic and compared at subsequent visits to show any changes in eye conditions. Your optometrist will advise if an OCT scan is recommended.
