Veronika Wildgruber

Veronika Wildgruber is a multifaceted designer based in Berlin. In addition to her eyewear collection, she also designs for French luxury brand, Hermès and a range of international household and furniture companies.

Veronika has created a unique style for her eyewear designs that is both familiar and unexpected. In her own words, the frames she creates are intended to be “simple and surprising”. She approaches design through the materials she works with, drawing inspiration from both craftsmanship and the manufacturing processes.

Her first collection, a collaboration with the French lunetier Jacques Durand, launched at Silmo in 2010 and went on to win a prestigious Silmo D’Or award. Shortly after this, she established her own collection, drawing on her experience with product and interior design.

Her work has been exhibited around the world, garnering more awards including the IF Product Design Award in 2011, a further Silmo d’Or in 2017 and a Special Mention at the German Design Awards in 2019.

Each component of Veronika Wildgruber frames is made in Europe, mainly by family-owned companies in Germany and Italy. Choosing only the best materials, Wildgruber relies on acetate from family-owned factories in Italy’s Veneto region. The product development team works hand in hand with the suppliers to ensure that the company’s values are implemented at each step of the way. This guarantees not only premium quality – but also that the highest standards of working conditions and truly sustainable production processes are maintained.

Veronika Wildgruber aims to make all of the company processes as sustainable and circular as possible. Glasses are delivered in cases made from 100% regenerated leather. The cleaning cloth is made in Poland from 100% recycled plastic. The parcels are sent using carbon neutral shipping and the paper packaging tape used can be recycled together with the cardboard boxes. All packing material is on its “second life” – it has been re-used from received deliveries. The company’s vehicle is a cargo bike.

Veronika Wildgruber eyewear is avant-garde, lavish and architecturally inspired. It’s three-dimensional, sculpted and bold, but at the same time deeply rooted in quality and craftsmanship.
