Kirk & Kirk

Kirk & Kirk is renowned for their bold, contemporary, jewel-coloured acrylic frames. Founded in 2013 by husband-and-wife team, Jason and Karen Kirk, the brand has gone from strength to strength and has accrued an army of loyal followers in the UK and beyond.

Jason has a long history in optics: his family were pioneers in frame manufacture and design, with the first generation running their business in London in the 1920’s. Karen has a background in design, having worked with Saatchi & Saatchi prior to moving into the optics field. Their combined knowledge and skills, and a desire to bring a sense of excitement to the world of optics, led to the creation of their much-loved brand. Kirk & Kirk frames are now sold in over 40 countries worldwide. Popular with celebrities, they are seen regularly on the red carpet with Kirk & Kirk eyewear designs winning numerous awards since their inception.

Kirk & Kirk frames are handcrafted entirely in France to the highest standards. Jason regularly visits the factory in person to ensure that this high standard of manufacturing is consistently maintained.

Kirk & Kirk specialises in producing frames made from acrylic. Acrylic is a much lighter material and therefore extremely comfortable to wear. It also offers a unique choice of colour palette. Kirk & Kirk frames offer the perfect alternative to customers who actively seek ultra-light eyewear but prefer colourful frames to typically understated titanium ones. Kirk & Kirk has spent many years developing its own grade of acrylic. It is produced in sheets so that the frames can be handmade to the highest optical standards.

It takes skill and experience to adjust acrylic frames. Here at Auerbach & Steele, we only employ fully qualified dispensing opticians who are adept at adjusting them and ensuring the perfect fit. In addition, we have our own workshop here on site where we glaze each pair of frames in-house. It gives us complete control, and means your lenses will always fit your frames perfectly and provide optimal vision.

Kirk & Kirk eyewear features high quality German five-barrel hinges, ensuring a very strong frame.

The frames also feature a fixed bridge which helps ensure a comfortable fit as the weight is evenly distributed across the entire bridge. It is also possible to have custom-made nose pads fitted to the frames to lift them further away from the cheek bones if required.

Auerbach & Steele is one of the brand’s earliest stockists in London. Loved by many of our patients, there is always a sense of excitement when new colours and styles arrive into our Chelsea store.
