HENAU Eyewear

HENAU is a Belgian eyewear house built on a single conviction: that a pair of glasses deserves the same creative rigour as any work of haute couture.

Michel Henau — visual artist turned optometrist — founded the brand in Antwerp in 1986, alongside collaborator Marc Delagrange. Both brought art and optics backgrounds to a shared vision: hand-drawn designs, architectural precision, and no mass production. In 2000, Marc Delagrange assumed sole creative leadership, carrying that ethos forward with his own refined point of view.

Each HENAU frame begins as a hand-drawn sketch by designer Marc, whose eye for form is impossible to replicate by algorithm or assembly line. Glasses are the first thing the world sees. HENAU believes they should be worth the glance.

Each frame is designed in Belgium and assembled by master craftspeople in France, where the tradition of precision is unmatched. The combination of Belgian design sensibility and French artisanal expertise produces eyewear that is considered in every detail — from the geometry of the lens to the weight of the temple.

HENAU does not produce at volume. Collections are limited, colourways are carefully chosen, and no two wearers are alike. That approach has earned HENAU eyewear a place in over 750 independent opticians across 30 countries — selected not for their footfall, but for their discernment.

We are delighted to stock this innovative brand here at our King’s Road practice. It’s always popular amongst our fashion forward customers who appreciate the detail in the design and the exceptional quality of the frames. Do get in touch to hear more about the collection or book an appointment if you are due your next eye examination.
