XIT Eyewear

XIT stands apart in the world of luxury French eyewear, built on decades of craftsmanship and a boldly rebellious creative spirit.

XIT's roots trace back to IDC, a company founded in 1985 by Jean-François Rey and master craftsman Pascal Lacotte. It was here that Lionel Bellet — known as "Lio" — joined as a designer in 1995, claiming his first Silmo d'Or within just two years. After more than a decade as artistic director, he launched XIT as a standalone brand in 2012.

A Cours Florent graduate, literature student, trained optician and born artist, Lio's creative range is as wide as it is deep. From asymmetric frames and Baudelaire poetry engraved into lenses to provocatively named designs and pioneering materials, he has consistently pushed the boundaries of what eyewear can be. XIT — a French acronym for "Excited" — lives up to its name. Lio masterfully combines geometric and asymmetric shapes with vibrant laser-cut patterns, producing exquisite, one-of-a-kind colour laminations. The collection spans colourful acetate, metal and combination frames.

Beyond its creative ambition, XIT is deeply committed to French manufacturing. The brand works exclusively with three production partners based in Burgundy, the Jura, and the Landes — regions with long traditions of precision craftsmanship. This dedication to local production supports over 90 French jobs and upholds a standard of quality that is increasingly rare in an industry dominated by mass production.
